AMC Welcomes New Veterinarian, Nickolas Henning DVM

June 26, 2016

The professional team at Animal Medical Center is excited to introduce their newest veterinarian, Dr. Nickolas Henning. Nick grew up in Ness City, Kansas on a cow/calf farming operation. After graduating from Ness City High School in 2006, he earned a degree in Animal Science from Fort Hays State University, followed by a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in May 2016.

“As an avid outdoorsman, I love to duck and goose hunt - I pretty much live for it,” Henning says. “I still help on the family farm when I can, and I look forward to getting back to my roots in rural Kansas. People here make sense to me, and it’s important to me to provide them with good, reliable veterinary care.”

Dr. Nick was hired to replace Dr. Caitlyn Redding, who was employed by AMC for a little over a year. Dr. Caitlyn recently moved to Nebraska to be closer to her fiancé before they get married this fall. “We were sad to see Caitlyn go, but wish her all the best in her new adventure,” says Nels Lindberg, co-owner of the thriving veterinary practice. “Animal Medical Center is committed to growth, and we are so pleased to have Dr. Nick on our team. He will make a great addition to our rural practice, which cares for large and small animals alike.”

Animal Medical Center offers full-service small and large animal care including vaccinations, spay and neuter surgeries, acupuncture, animal chiropractic, ultrasound diagnostics, cold laser therapy, surgical laser, digital x-ray, endoscopy, regenerative medicine (stem cell therapy), all aspects of bovine and equine medicine, surgery, consultation, and much more. Retail products for pet care and nutrition are also available, and they boast a clean open-hospital environment. The Great Bend location is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon with a 24-hour emergency service. The new Ellinwood satellite clinic is open Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with appointments for veterinarians from 1-5 p.m. on those days.
