Dr. Nels Lindberg Awarded KVMA Veterinarian of the Year

Dr. Nels Lindberg with Animal Medical Center in Great Bend, was recently honored by the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA) with their most prestigious award, the Veterinarian of the Year award. The recognition took place at an awards luncheon during the 77th Annual Conference for Veterinarians in Manhattan, Kansas earlier this summer.

The Veterinarian of the Year Award is given to KVMA members that have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the veterinary profession and their community. Candidates are nominated by constituents of the association or by their clients. “Dr. Nels Lindberg has devoted his career to the promotion of veterinary medicine,” says Megan Kilgore, KVMA Executive Director. “He has set a professional example for veterinarians across the state of Kansas.”

Lindberg purchased Animal Medical Center in 2005 after earning his doctorate from Kansas State University and practicing for two years in Great Bend and two years in Dodge City. In addition to the thriving veterinary practice, Lindberg also owns a company called Progressive Beef Consulting & Research as well as being a partner in several other small business ventures.

Dr. Lindberg practices state-of-the-art veterinary medicine at Animal Medical Center alongside his partner, Dr. Matt Fehr, and associate veterinarians Dr. Ty Brunswig and Dr. Caitlyn Redding. The growing practice features state-of-the-art diagnostics and laboratory equipment, along with offering the very best in traditional animal care, grooming, and boarding. Dr. Fehr is the only provider for animal chiropractic and acupuncture in the area, having more than 450 hours of classroom education to attain his certifications. Dr. Nels is known nationally for his feedlot consultation expertise.

“Being honored with this award was a very awesome, humbling surprise, as I thought I was going to the awards luncheon to present an award to a good friend of mine,” Lindberg says. “There are many other deserving veterinarians who were nominated, and I truly attribute our success to the entire team at Animal Medical Center, our spouses, and especially to my wife and kids. We share a common vision for serving others and providing the absolute best customer experience.”
